Do I need any bag-making experience?

No. Start with the fundamentals of structured bags, measurements and patterns, then build towards more complex construction. The class also helps existing bag makers understand the reasoning behind their techniques.

Can I use a domestic sewing machine?

Yes. A domestic black-head sewing machine is the minimum requirement; an industrial machine is not compulsory. The materials guide covers suitable needles and supplies.

How long do I have access?

The course includes extended access so you can return to lessons and learn at your own pace. An exact access period is not specified; contact us before enrolling if you need to confirm the duration. Videos are streamed online and cannot be downloaded.

Are there live classes or deadlines?

No. The class is fully self-paced, with no live sessions to miss. Watch the lessons and practise around your own schedule.

What bags will I learn to make?

Structured handbags, clutches, frame bags, totes, briefcase-style bags, laptop bags, shoulder bags, crossbody bags and travel bags, using eight gusset construction systems.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Complete the course, assignments and required project evidence to receive your YellowLearn Academy certificate of completion.
